AMERICAN OIL

Schmidty started this conversation
American Oil - can you believe this!!!!!!?

OIL - you better sit down... Here's an interesting read, important and verifiable information: About 6 months ago, the writer was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground?" Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the Middle East put together." Please read below.
The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April 2008 that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since 1995) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota , and extreme eastern Montana ...... check THIS out:

(the picture wouldn't transfer but it was a map of the oil field.)

http://bakkenshale.net/bakkenshalemap.html

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska 's Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5..3 trillion.

"When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.." says Terry Johnson, the Montana Legislature's financial analyst. "

This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years," reports The Pittsburgh Post Gazette. It's a formation known as the Williston Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' It stretches from Northern Montana, through North Dakota and into Canada .. For years, U. S. oil exploration has been considered a dead end. Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves.... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from 2006!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the Rocky Mountains lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

- 8-times as much oil as Saudi Arabia

- 18-times as much oil as Iraq

- 21-times as much oil as Kuwait

- 22-times as much oil as Iran

- 500-times as much oil as Yemen

- and it's all right here in the Western United States .

HOW can this BE?

HOW can we NOT BE extracting this?

Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help America become independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped. That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The Denver Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find? Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention yet?

Now, while you're thinking about it, do this:

Pass this along.

If you don't take a little time to do this,

then you should stifle yourself the next time you complain about gas prices - by doing NOTHING, you forfeit your right to complain.

Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book. By the way...this is all true. Check it out at the link below!!!

GOOGLE it, or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

in response to CATLUV...   I couldn't agree more. They ought to start a new political party, the " Blanket Party" those jobs are suppose to be filled by people who WANT to HELP their people NOT to get RIch.

It shows how arrogant they are when the vote to not extend unemplyment benefits, not raise social security, yet, they give themselves a hefty hefty raise.

I wonder if that was why Bush called the Oil companies in for a meeting right before the prices started to raise out of hand just like Congress.

I don't believe that there would be as much 'politics' if those positions were filled with people who wanted to help. That's help not get rich and act like they are better than everyone else.

As you can see that hits a nerve, as a steward , then committee person, then vice president of a local Union. I've seen and been in politics. Like you called it" a nasty business" and it doesn't have to be.

Well, I spouted off enough about this .You have a very good day and thank you.

Thank you Schmidty for sharing this with us ...
This makes my stomach do flips, and like you said, makes steam pour from my ears. Politics is such a nasty dirty business, and the fact of the matter is, our government, and the powers that be, do this same sort of thing with other systems and issues in our country. They all but concocted and manipulated the so called "War on Drugs," play dirty within the medical system, insurance related arenas and the pharmaceutical companies, just to name a few. And, when one educates themselves with the facts, it's pretty darn nauseating and infuriating to say the least. While each of us as an average individual citizen has little power over such matters, the one thing we can count on is the concept of power found in many voices. I agree that it is VERY important to share this information with as many people as possible, as knowledge is power, and that's exactly what is needed to create change.

in response to whoknew...   You are right and I'll leave it at that.
I agree and I think that if everyone does send this out to everyone in their address books that we could also put them in a vise, you know what I'm talking about.
You know the more I think about it the more it pisses me of. One more reason why money should be spread out more evenly, at least more than what it is now, and why are they so afraid or worried that there is a middle class? Unless, they figure once it's rich and poor they can take away all forms of communication, then our book, and , hey, I've heard about something like this in 1939 or 40, right around WWII. Surely not. I can't help but snicker about Congress and I imagine the House also, carrying guns now, some of them, if they weren't so crooked the wouldn't have anything to worry about. I hate to hear about things like that but I can't help thinking that they(all) have earned a good old fashioned blanket party.
Well, I'd better stop, I've got steam coming out my ears. I got to find my happy places,(deifting off) finding my happy places

in response to Schmidty...   Hi there and I don't like them either while people are striped of their money to pay for all the rate increases and fuel prices. I know exactly what you mean and an 80 year old put it in different terms that I can't repeat here. But it is along the same lines you were thinking.
I will be passing that to my friends what you wrote.
See ya

in response to Starshine...   Glad to, I don't much like big Oil, Electric, and water. I know that it cost to have these utilities and we don't have rights to them, but these companies shouldn't have the right to bend us over....a barrell. Then demand that we smile and without a kiss.

in response to sheshe030...   I do believe that 1 person can and does make a difference. When I found this out My first question was WHY? Then if you look at the angles, it's only Money, no other reason than money.

I'm glad you enjoyed itI've sent it to everyone I know.

If enough people knew about this and wrote their Congress peopleThen they would have to take notice because then they would know that we know and maybe somrthng will get done.

We can always hope and pray. Take care.

This is terrible and I will forward it to people I know. Something has got to change and soon very soon. As for the drilling I remember they didn't want to tap into Alaska due to the enviroment and animals at one time. Leave it to government and thank you for sharing. Here in California gas will be about 5-12 a gallon in 2012 and they have all this untapped oil sitting around that no one has started to get. Holy cow..

Thanks again for sharing it. I hope everyone who see this does something to change the way things are for sure.

Reply to Schmidty:---You have got to be kidding, I'm just one of the millions that have never heard this information before and I'm also one of millions that enjoys writing to any government agency especially about stuff like this. I will send thsese two address's to those on my address book and computer address's. Your absolutely right Schmidty about what would happen if we all wrote letters and demand to know just WHEN will this oil start being drilled for and WHY wasn't there a huge international news story of it in 2006? So many people just don't want to bother doing anything thinking that one litte person can't get anything done. Well I personally have been one of those little people who started writing letters to my senator and I did make a difference and how did I do that? I never gave up, never...I kept on writing and then one day I recieved a call right in the middle of my work day and it was the Senator and he had gotten all IRS charges against my husbands pay dropped and the same day the FBI arrested Kevin's old boss. So I would be more than happy to spread the news and I won't give up either. Thankyou so much for bringing this info to light, it's nice that we have an inhouse detective to keep us all informed, it's people like yourself that start little grass-roots movements that grow and grow and do make changes for all. Keep up the great work Schmidty. sincerely sheshe030 (Sheila)
